Part 2: What Construction Professionals Are Telling Us
Earlier this year, we put out an insight article that shared some of the knowledge / perspective we have gathered from asking specific questions to construction professionals within our network on LinkedIn (which is over 19,500 now).
We received a lot of positive feedback and wanted to provide further insight as we have continued to ask more questions to these Construction Industry experts. Here are some of the more recent questions we have asked and the answers we have received:
What do you think is the leading cause / biggest contributing factor to turnover within an organization?
Most Common Answer we received (by a wide margin) was: Poor Leadership
What is the most underrated aspect of the interview process for candidates?
The top answer was: Preparation Before the Interview. (*Second most chosen answer was: Body Language During the Interview)
What is the KEY ingredient for building a team/culture that really is built on trust, working together and doing the right thing?
The most prevalent answer: Leading By Example (46% of responses). 2nd leading answer: Consistent Communication (34% of responses)
What is the right number of steps in the interview process?
Far and away, the top answer was: 2 Steps (Call/Virtual then In-Person Meeting)
As construction professionals, both in leadership and associate level roles, provide open and honest feedback to these questions we believe it is helpful to pass this along to all of you in the industry who may be having the same thoughts/questions as we are.
We genuinely hope that this insight is beneficial to you and your company as you push ahead in 2025!
